You MUST remember your password, so write it in your notepad or etc, before you confirm the operation!

Dear players, due to the large number of Hi-jacked accounts, which is no longer limited to simple hi-jack (now hi-jackers are using a more advanced technique which involves hacking e-mail’s passwords) – we just have to take care of you. Therefore we are integrating a new function “Password to the character” + we’ll install an update, but more on that later and in another topic.

After the server restarts, you must use your Averia Updater or download an L2.ini (3kb) and replace it with your L2.ini. Otherwise you will be dropped from the sever with an error, if you attempt to set your password.

After you’ll update your game client, you will be asked to set your character’s password. Some nuances are below:

• It’s forbidden to use repeating symbols like 111111, 121212
  
• Each time the location of numbers is different. You shouldn't try to remember your password visually, because the location of numbers will be different next time you log in.
  
• You should keep your password safe (write down it somewhere and keep it closer to you), since password recovery can take up to 24 hours because of the heavy load of the support. We do not display the service “Remove your password” because of the fact that 80% of game accounts are hi-jacked by hacking an e-mail. You can use this service ONLY with administration’s help.
  
• We recommend you to use different password for your characters
  
• You can change your password only if you remember your current pass! So, as an advice, we recommend you to keep your pass safe. Do not share it with someone!
  

• Password is set to fail; you can’t refuse to use this feature. Whether you like it or not, it’s your own safety and our time which is spent on solving Hi-jack issues. When you set your password, you will be asked to enter it every time you log in.
  
• If you use a “restart”, it is not necessary to enter this password again. The password will be requested only if you log out from your account.
  

An updated L2.ini file will be posted in this topic in 03.40 AM (Moscow Time, GMT +3); Averia’s updater will be “updated” at the same time. You must update your L2 client or otherwise you won’t be able to play the game (a crush report will appear).

You should download L2.ini + ServerName archive and replace files in your System folder to update your L2 client.
