Dear friends,

The OBT is actively running for the second week now and we are closely monitoring your activity, collecting all feedback on innovations and error messages. In this regard, we have made several changes, which we will tell you about in this  Patch Note 🙃

The OBT Tournament was successfully held, and the team image.png 105 Frintez Gaming won.  Congratulations to the winners and thanks to all participants! 

The OBT is already on its 10th day, and we want to share some statistics with you:

  • Total Created:
    • Characters: 45306:

Changes for the third stage of OBT:

  • The maximum level of characters, subs, pets has been increased to 85;
    • The server rates remain the same and correspond to the conditions "at the start of the Season";
    • Experience in Kamaloka and Laba, as well as for quests,  will be awarded in the same way as at the start of the Season;
      • Players who explore the possibilities for a quick start will receive the same amount of Experience and SP as in the upcoming start;
      • Players who want to try out their class at high levels will also be able to do so.
    • Level and  3 profession can be obtained from NPC image.png Mister Work in cities.
  • Improved etc_fire_crystal_i00.png Attribute system;
    • You can add 3 slots to armor (1800 sets);
    • Up to 300 in Weapons, up to 60 in A armor, up to 120 in S armor;
    • Skills without enchantingwill work according to the starting conditions (trait), skills with enchantingfrom +1 and higher will work according to the attribute system;
    • All necessary items can be obtained from NPC image.png Mister Work  in cities.

We recommend that you either test the starting conditions within 50-60 levels, or have fun at the maximum level of 85. Situations like "a level 74 mage with a 150 weapon" are not a realistic game situation after the server starts. We also strongly ask high-level players not to interfere with players who are testing new low-level locations. Be friendly to each other, you will still have plenty of time and opportunities for battles.

  • Automatic rebuff.
  • Skills.
  • An automatic system for updating certain self-buffs has been added to the game :
    • Only works for skills that are cast on the character that casts them. For example, skill0482.pngFurious Soul will be automatically cast, but skill0834.pngBlood Pact will not;
    • Skills will only be used after the maximum effect time has expired. In case of cancel/steal/death/alt+click (cancel) before the effect timer ends, the automatic rebuff  will not occur;
    • Only works for skills that don't have specific conditions for use. For example, skill0094.pngRage will be used automatically, but skill0176.pngFrenzy will not;  
    • The auto-rebuff system does not work in the peace zone;
    • Usage:
      • A new green icon will appear on skills available for activation image.png  Skills need to be placed on the quick access panel and activated by pressing the right mouse button,  after which the corresponding highlight will appear on it;
      • A new icon has appeared on the right side of the quick access panel  image.png, which, when activated,  disables auto-use of skills in combat;
      • This is not Artificial Intelligence. If you enable auto-use of the  skill0077.pngAttack Aura skill , but you are under the effect of the  skill1499.pngImproved Combat skill , the system will not be able to cast skill0077.pngAttack Aura and will constantly rebuff it;
      • The system will not refresh the selected skill if the character is in a chaotic state , even if its duration has expired.

        It is important to understand how this will work now and in the near future:

        • Limited Skill List: This only applies to skills that can be used exclusively on yourself. For example, Furious Soul is a self-effect, unlike Blood Pact, which affects the group. At this point, we have no plans to turn this system into something like "Essence-like", and we are not talking about implementing auto-buffs for classes like PP, Wark, Over, or Bard with rhythms. Perhaps this will be implemented in the future for the eternal MasterWork Eternal server , but for now the goal is not to replace living characters with auto-buffs. Our goal is to improve convenience and reduce rule violations, such as using macros on the keyboard or mouse to cycle through actions (which are detected and punished by a ban, according to the project rules).
        • Unconditional Skill Usage: This only applies to basic self-buffs that are used every 20 minutes. For example, Rage, but not Frenzy. No exceptions at this point - only standard buffs.
        • Simple system : Skills will only be automatically cast after the effect's maximum duration has expired. For example, if you loop Rapid Shot, it will be cast exactly every 20 minutes, regardless of whether the effect was removed earlier (e.g. death, cancel, or other factors). There will be no checks for buffs.

        How to use it: After the update, some skills will have a special icon for auto-use of these skills. To do this, you can right-click on the skill icon to activate its automatic use. Also, an additional button will appear on the skill panel, which allows you to enable or disable the automatic use of these skills during combat.

        We maintain the balance and logic of the game:  Yes, simplification is being introduced, but it only concerns routine actions that do not make much sense from a gameplay perspective. We do not seek to disrupt PvP mechanics or rebuff characters automatically after effects are removed. To properly use abilities in difficult situations, such as after a cancel, players will still have to act independently.

        This is not a replacement for human players and macros:  Self-buff automation works in parallel with macros and does not conflict with them. For example, you can loop attack macros, and self-buffs will automatically update every 20 minutes. This simplifies the game in everyday tasks, reducing the temptation to break the rules, but does not replace the need to actively control the character in combat situations.

        Does not affect balance and skill rotation:  In the current implementation, the automation of skill use does not affect the rotation of combat actions. This is simply a convenience for players that does not interfere with the course of the game. For example, if you play as a dagger, Focus Death is automatically applied every 20 minutes - this does not disrupt the rotation, but only saves time on routine actions.


        Conclusion:
        At the moment, the auto-self-buff system is a convenient tool for simplifying routine actions without interfering with the balance of the game. We do not intend to make this a full-fledged auto-rebuff system for groups or PvP, and such features are not planned for the distant future. It is important to remember that we are talking only about basic self-buffs with a certain time interval, and the system does not affect more complex combat mechanics or interactions.

 We remind you that macros are a "convenience" needed so that you can step away from the computer to have a snack, stretch your legs, or do other similar things, but do not serve as a full-fledged way to automate the game. Also keep in mind that any automation (bots, clickers, keyboard and mouse macros) is prohibited on our server. Trying to bypass this rule will result in a block.
 

  • Added the ability to disable 180-degree camera rotation when clicking the mouse wheel. To do this, uncheck the 180 -degree turn item in the Options > Controls menu.

  • image.png Extensive work to improve performance:

    • According to statistics collected before the start of the season and during OBT, we expect an increase in the number of players on the MasterWork project in Season 5 compared to Season 4.
      In this regard, we faced a challenge: to improve and optimize both the game client, server capacity (physical server), and the throughput of the game core (game server). As part of this work, the number of game core threads was significantly expanded, which will allow processing information faster, the capabilities of the physical server were increased (according to the latest fashion), and hundreds of windows and functions were found, cleaned and optimized inside the game client.
      We expect that these actions will be able to improve the perception of players during the game, especially during mass events.
      However, we want to note that these improvements will continue to be made, since we understand that the online loads experienced by the servers of the MasterWork season are far from those laid down by the official developers and we have a long and difficult path ahead, which we go through together with you!

You should not focus on the late stages of the game now, but rather prepare for the start and understand the basics of MasterWork.

Throughout the first few months and season as a whole, we'll be working on both class-specific abilities and larger systems. As part of the "look ahead" of the final Patch Notes  before Season 5 and the launch of the dual servers, we wanted to share with you some of the plans we'll be working on.

  • Skills for classes that have particular problems in non-party play.
    For example, archers will get different types of shots that will impose different effects on the target, but will have the same cooldown as the skill0354.pngHamstring Shot skill.
  • Creation of an interserver market and further expansion of the system to interserver events.
    We understand that depending on the number and type of players - the market on the servers🌊Water and🔥Fire will be different. Creating one trading zone will reduce the shortage of goods on different servers and equalize the economy.
  • Creating a system of constant parties.
    This system will allow players who play together as a single group to get functionality that will both facilitate their daily routine (for example, a common bank), and allow them to stand out from the crowd.
  • A system of convenient recruitment directly from the game.
    At the moment, players use the forum or the global chat system to recruit for their group (const party), which does not always bring the expected result. Someone may not actively use the forum, miss a message in the heat of battle. This system will allow you to talk in sufficient detail about your own group and the criteria for the applicant, which will allow you to quickly find exactly the one who suits your style of play.
  • Additional information to group members about the status of their party members.
    For example, during OBT, we implemented a function that highlights a character in the group who received the skill1016.pngResurrection skill (or similar), but did not accept it (we are talking about clicking "accept" in the resurrection window). By analogy with this function, we plan to add various tools to make it easier to understand the character's status.

As mentioned above, this is only part of the tasks that we set for ourselves for the season, but which we will implement among the first, but we are not yet ready to talk about the implementation time.

You will need to use our image.png Updater to ensure that the update displays correctly. We strongly recommend that you use the Fast Check feature as we regularly release various minor and major updates.
